My story

My story begins at the age of 14 in the engineering classroom. In a dark corner, a train is ready to depart. But the switches first have to be programmed using a binary programming language. The new code then permanently changes the switches. This was one of those moments where you are so into what you're doing that only when the lights turned off you wake up and come back into reality.

During my study Electrical Engineering I found that same fascination again but then for smart phones and the upcoming App ecosystem. I took the necessary mobile courses and got myself on a plane to Silicon Valley.

There I was one of the first (and only?) Dutch people to develop for Google Glass. I visited the famous HP Garage and pitched billion dollar app ideas to investors. I was surrounded by fellow tech enthusiasts with the same fascination for the latest technologies.

Back home I started my freelance career in mobile app development. I worked on many consumer Android and iOS apps in banking and fundraising, plus mobile payment systems. I've recruited and coached junior developers, taken ownership of architecture, and launched several app startups.
